When bio-based fibers become the common language of a sustainable future

Aug. 14, 2026

A handshake, a touch, a conversation - these are all enough to make the signals of the material revolution clearly visible. In the bustling exhibition hall of Shanghai Fuyue Hotel, at one booth, there are always people reaching out to touch, bending over to examine. There are no dazzlingly decorated booths here; instead, there are rolls of fabrics, samples, and continuous low conversations.

From December 14th to 15th, 2025, the TEXSOFT biobased materials exhibition area at the 6th NTMT International Textile New Materials and Fabric Black Technology Summit became a must-visit destination for many professional visitors. Under the theme of "New Origins, Yarn Brings Nature's Power", the biobased pioneer brand TEXSOFT of Deke Industry showcased to the industry a possibility: fabrics can possess both technological performance and the essence of nature.

01 Touch Sensation: The Redefined "Techiness" Touch

This simple action has become the most effective communication method in the TEXSOFT exhibition area. When fingers glide over the fabric made of biodegradable fibers, a gentle and soft sensation is felt, unlike the coldness of certain synthetic materials. This touch sensation is based on TEXSOFT's unique "natural curling" fiber technology, which enables the fabric to imitate the structure of natural fibers at the microscopic level. The R&D director of Deke Industry emphasized during the on-site exchange, "What we offer is an alternative choice, one that stems from natural logic and does not compromise on performance."

02 Dialogue: New Consensus on Performance and Sustainability

"One of the biggest challenges of bio-based materials is their performance stability," a fabric producer from Fujian stated candidly. The TEXSOFT technical team presented their solution: through the design of two-component bio-based fibers, they combined two different types of plant-based materials, maintaining the elasticity and comfort of the fabric while ensuring the stability of its shape after washing. The on-site released test data showed that the TEXSOFT bio-based fabric had reached or even exceeded the levels of some traditional synthetic materials in key indicators such as stretch recovery rate, color fastness, and wear resistance. "Sustainability should not come at the expense of performance," a representative of an European brand said after the exchange. "Seeing such a balanced product has given us a clearer direction for our sustainable product line in the next season."

04 Outlook: After the Summit, Sustainability Will Go Beyond Just Being a Concept

The NTMT summit was like a slice, showcasing the urgency and vitality of China's textile industry's innovative transformation. The attention that TEXSOFT's bio-based materials received at this exhibition confirmed a trend: when technology reaches a certain level of maturity, sustainability is no longer an optional question but a mandatory one. The exhibition is over, but the journey of the materials has just begun. And the next conversation might take place on a design draft, on a production line, or in an upcoming piece of clothing. Yarn follows nature's force, weaving towards a sustainable future - this is no longer just a slogan but an actual industrial reality. And TEXSOFT is participating in writing this reality with rolls of touchable, testable, and applicable fabrics.

This summit has concluded, but the discussions on the materials are still ongoing...

If you missed the on-site exchanges at NTMT but are still interested in TEXSOFT's bio-based materials, please visit the official website or follow the official account of Deke Industry to obtain the complete technical materials and sample application methods.
